Cobbler

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Peaches

Preheat your wood oven to around 375°F (190°C). Wash and slice the peaches, removing the pits, and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Peaches

Toss the sliced peaches with 1/4 cup of sugar and let them sit for about 10 minutes to release their juices.

  3. 3

    Make the Cobbler Batter

In another bowl, combine the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Melt the butter and mix it into the dry ingredients until a crumbly dough forms.

  4. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Fold in the chopped walnuts into the cobbler batter. In a greased baking dish, layer the peach mixture and then spoon the cobbler batter over the top.

  5. 5

    Bake the Cobbler

Place the baking dish in the preheated wood oven and bake for about 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Serve warm with scoops of vanilla ice cream on top.
