Ingredients for Sesame Seared Sashimi Tuna

Method

Directions for Sesame Seared Sashimi Tuna

  1. 1

    Prep the Tuna

Start by slicing the ahi tuna fillet into 1/2 inch thick slices.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Sesame Seed Coating

In a shallow dish, mix the black and white sesame seeds together.

  3. 3

    Coat the Tuna

Brush each slice of tuna with sesame oil, then press both sides of each slice into the sesame seed mixture to coat evenly.

  4. 4

    Sear the Tuna

Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, add a little sesame oil. Sear the tuna slices for about 30 seconds on each side for a rare finish.

  5. 5

    Serve

Arrange the seared tuna on a plate, serve with soy sauce, wasabi, pickled ginger, and lime wedges. Garnish with microgreens or seaweed.
