Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Turkey

Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels. Rub olive oil all over the turkey, including under the skin.

  2. 2

    Season the Turkey

In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the turkey, ensuring even coverage.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Smoker

Soak applewood chips in water for at least 30 minutes. Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C). Add the soaked chips to the smoker.

  4. 4

    Smoke the Turkey

Place the turkey in the smoker breast side up. Smoke the turkey for approximately 30 minutes per pound, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Baste the turkey with chicken broth every hour.

  5. 5

    Rest and Serve

Once the turkey is done, remove it from the smoker and let it rest for at least 30 minutes before carving. Serve warm.
