1. Prepare the Brisket

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Rinse the brisket under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.

2. Season the Brisket

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and brown sugar. Rub this spice mixture all over the brisket, ensuring an even coat.

3. Sear the Brisket

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sear the brisket on both sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.

4. Prepare for Roasting

Transfer the brisket to a roasting pan. Pour the beef broth and liquid smoke into the bottom of the pan.

5. Roast the Brisket

Cover the pan tightly with foil and roast in the preheated oven for about 4 hours, or until the brisket is fork-tender.

6. Glaze and Rest

In the last 30 minutes of cooking, uncover the brisket and brush it with your favorite BBQ sauce. Continue roasting uncovered.

7. Slice and Serve

Once done, remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing against the grain. Serve with additional BBQ sauce on the side.
