Pizza Topping
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. Add olive oil, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth.
- 2
Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
- 4
Shape the Pizza
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and shape it into a 12-inch round on a floured surface.
- 5
Add Toppings
Spread tomato sauce over the base, then layer with slices of fresh mozzarella. Sprinkle with fresh basil leaves, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and black pepper.
- 6
Bake the Pizza
Transfer the pizza to the preheated stone or baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 7
Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a minute, slice, and serve hot!
