Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Sauce
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- 2
Cook the Beef
Add the American Wagyu ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a wooden spoon and cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper.
- 3
Add Tomatoes
Once the beef is browned, add the canned San Marzano tomatoes along with their juices. Stir well to combine. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 4
Cook the Pasta
While the sauce is simmering, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the tagliatelle and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- 5
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Once the sauce has thickened, add the cooked tagliatelle to the skillet with the meat sauce. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.
- 6
Serve
Remove from heat and stir in chopped fresh basil. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
