Tiramisu Ingredients
Method
Tiramisu Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Coffee Mixture
In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso coffee with coffee liqueur (if using). Set aside.
- 2
Make the Cream Mixture
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and creamy. Add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- 3
Whip the Heavy Cream
In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined.
- 4
Layer the Tiramisu
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture (do not soak) and layer them at the bottom of a serving dish. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers. Repeat the layers with the remaining ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.
- 5
Chill
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
- 6
Serve
Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder. Slice and serve chilled.
