Directions
- 1
Prepare the clams
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Rinse the clams under cold water to remove any sand or grit. Place them in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then simmer for about 5 minutes until the clams open. Discard any that do not open.
- 2
Make the topping
In a mixing bowl, combine breadcrumbs, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, diced bell pepper, chopped parsley, olive oil, lemon juice, and season with salt and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 3
Assemble the dish
Place the opened clams on a baking sheet. Spoon the breadcrumb mixture generously over each clam.
- 4
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and crispy.
- 5
Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm as an appetizer, garnished with additional parsley if desired.
