Directions

1

Prepare the Onions

Peel the onions and slice them into 1/4 inch thick rings. Separate the rings and set them aside in a bowl.

2

Make the Batter

In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until smooth.

3

Coat the Onion Rings

Dip each onion ring into the batter, ensuring it is evenly coated. Then, roll the battered onion rings in breadcrumbs to create a crispy coating.

4

Heat the Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

5

Fry the Onion Rings

Carefully place the coated onion rings in the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

6

Drain and Serve

Remove the fried onion rings from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
