Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Warm Milk and Butter

In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter over low heat until the butter melts. Allow to cool slightly until warm (about 110°F/43°C).

  3. 3

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then add the warm milk mixture. Stir until combined.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Filling Preparation

  1. 6

    Make Filling

In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar and cinnamon. Mix well and set aside.

  2. 7

    Prepare Butter

Soften the butter if it’s not already. You can do this by leaving it out at room temperature or microwaving it in short bursts.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 8

    Roll Out Dough

After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 16x24 inches).

  2. 9

    Spread Butter and Filling

Spread the softened butter evenly over the rolled-out dough, then sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top.

  3. 10

    Roll and Cut

Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces.

  4. 11

    Arrange in Pan

Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving space between them. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.

  5. 12

    Bake Rolls

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Icing Preparation

  1. 13

    Make Icing

In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.

Serving

  1. 14

    Ice and Serve

Once the rolls are baked, let them cool for about 10 minutes before spreading the icing on top. Serve warm.
