Vegetable Tempura Ingredients
Method
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Vegetables
Wash and slice the sweet potato, zucchini, carrot, bell pepper, and separate the broccoli into florets. Set aside.
- 2
Make Tempura Batter
In a bowl, mix the rice flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add cold water and whisk until just combined. The batter should be slightly lumpy.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Vegetables
Dip each vegetable slice into the batter, allowing excess batter to drip off. Carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- 5
Serve
Serve the tempura hot with the Asian citrus sauce for dipping.
