Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Season the beef steak with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for about 3-4 minutes on each side until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 2

    Make the Sauce

In the same skillet, add chopped onion, garlic, and red bell pepper. Sauté for about 5 minutes until softened. Add tomato sauce, bay leaves, paprika, and additional salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine.

  3. 3

    Braised Cooking

Return the steak to the skillet, cover, and reduce heat to low. Let it simmer for about 20-25 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the steak to become tender.

  4. 4

    Add Ham and Eggs

In the last 5 minutes of cooking, place the slices of ham on top of the steak. In a separate pan, fry the eggs to your liking (sunny-side up is traditional) and set aside.

  5. 5

    Serve

Once the steak is cooked through, remove from heat. Serve the steak topped with ham and a fried egg on top. Enjoy!
