Method

Prepare the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Rub the NY Strip Steak with olive oil, then season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  3. 3

    Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Cook the Eggs

  1. 4

    Heat the Pan

In a non-stick skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. 5

    Cook the Eggs

Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook until the whites are set and the yolks are sunny, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Make the Whipped Potato Formaggio

  1. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters. Place them in a pot of salted water and bring to a boil. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 7

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, and season with salt and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

Plate the Dish

  1. 8

    Serve

Slice the rested steak and place it on a plate. Add the sunny-side-up eggs next to the steak, and a generous scoop of whipped potato formaggio on the side. Enjoy your meal!
