Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Bake the Potatoes

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Scrub the russet potatoes under running water and pat them dry. Poke several holes into each potato with a fork and place them directly on the oven rack. Bake for 45-60 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and easily pierced with a fork.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Toppings

While the potatoes are baking, cook the bacon until crispy, then crumble it into small pieces. Shred the cheddar cheese and chop the chives.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Loaded Baked Potatoes

Once the potatoes are done baking, remove them from the oven. Cut a slit down the center of each potato and gently squeeze the ends to open them up. Add a tablespoon of butter to each potato, followed by a generous portion of shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and a dollop of sour cream.

  4. 4

    Garnish and Serve

Sprinkle the chopped chives over the top of each loaded baked potato and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve immediately while hot.
