Method
Shrimp Basket Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Shrimp
Peel and devein the shrimp, leaving the tails on. Rinse and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow bowls, place the flour seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika in one bowl, whisk the eggs in the second bowl, and place the panko breadcrumbs in the third bowl.
- 3
Bread the Shrimp
Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, then dip it into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with panko breadcrumbs. Set aside on a plate.
- 4
Cook the French Fries
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the French fries according to package instructions until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.
- 5
Fry the Shrimp
In the same oil, fry the breaded shrimp in batches for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 6
Serve
Arrange the shrimp and French fries on a serving platter. Serve with guava cocktail sauce on the side.
