Ingredients for Phillips Blue Buck
Method
Brewing Instructions
- 1
Mashing
In a large pot, heat 3 liters of water to 160°F (71°C). Add Pilsner and Caramel malts, and maintain the temperature for 60 minutes.
- 2
Boiling
After mashing, remove the grains and bring the wort to a boil. Once boiling, add Cascade hops and boil for 60 minutes. In the last 10 minutes of boiling, add Citra hops.
- 3
Cooling
Cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches around 70°F (21°C).
- 4
Fermentation
Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel and pitch the yeast. Seal the vessel and let it ferment for about 2 weeks at room temperature.
- 5
Bottling
After fermentation, dissolve 0.25 cups of priming sugar in 1 cup of water and boil for 5 minutes. Cool and add to the beer before bottling.
- 6
Carbonation
Bottle the beer and let it carbonate at room temperature for 1-2 weeks.
- 7
Chill and Serve
Refrigerate the beer, pour into a glass, and enjoy your homemade Phillips Blue Buck!
