Winemaking Process
- 1
Harvesting Grapes
Harvest the Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Malbec grapes from the Okanagan Valley, ensuring they are ripe and free of blemishes.
- 2
Crushing and Destemming
Crush and destem the harvested grapes to release the juice and pulp.
- 3
Fermentation
Transfer the crushed grapes to fermentation tanks. Add the yeast to the must and allow it to ferment at a controlled temperature for 7-14 days.
- 4
Pressing
After fermentation, press the mixture to separate the liquid wine from the solid grape skins.
- 5
Maturation
Transfer the wine to oak barrels for aging. Allow the blend to mature for 6-12 months to develop complexity.
- 6
Stabilization and Bottling
Add sulfites to stabilize the wine before bottling. Bottle the wine and label it as 'Laughing Stock ‘Portfolio’ Merlot Blend'.
