Preparing the Burger

Cook the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the smoked bacon until crispy. Remove and let drain on paper towels.

Form the Patty
In a bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form into a burger patty, about 1-inch thick.

Heat the same skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Place the cheddar on the patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
