Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Grapes

Wash the Sangiovese and Primitivo grapes thoroughly. Remove the stems and place the grapes in a large bowl.

  2. 2

    Crush the Grapes

Using a potato masher or your hands, crush the grapes gently to release their juices.

  3. 3

    Make the Base

In a separate pot, combine the water and sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely to create a simple syrup.

  4. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the simple syrup over the crushed grapes. Add lemon juice and stir well to combine. Let the mixture sit for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  5. 5

    Strain the Mixture

Using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, strain the mixture to extract the juice. Discard the solids and retain the liquid.

  6. 6

    Chill and Serve

Add fresh mint leaves and ice cubes to the strained rosé. Serve chilled in glasses.
