Pasta and Seasoning
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cook the Spaghetti
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve about 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- 2
Toast the Black Pepper
While the pasta is cooking, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the freshly cracked black pepper and toast for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- 3
Combine Pasta and Pepper
Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the toasted black pepper. Toss to combine.
- 4
Add Cheese and Pasta Water
Remove the skillet from heat. Gradually add the grated Pecorino Romano cheese and a splash of reserved pasta water while tossing the pasta. Continue to add more pasta water as needed to create a creamy sauce that coats the spaghetti.
- 5
Season and Serve
Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and more black pepper if desired. If using, drizzle with olive oil before serving. Serve immediately.
