Fried Pickles
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Coating
In a shallow bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
- 2
Prepare the Buttermilk Mixture
In another bowl, whisk together the egg and buttermilk until smooth.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Coat the Pickles
Dip each pickle slice into the buttermilk mixture, then dredge in the flour-cornmeal mixture, ensuring they are well-coated.
- 5
Fry the Pickles
Carefully place the coated pickles into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried pickles from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with Ranch dressing for dipping.
