Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions (6 oz each). Form loosely into balls without compacting too much.

  2. 2

    Season the Patties

Season both sides of each beef ball with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patties

Heat a skillet or griddle over high heat. Add the beef ball to the skillet and smash it down with a spatula to form a patty. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until a crust forms. Flip the patty, place a slice of American cheese on top, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts and the patty is cooked to your desired temperature.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Brioche Rolls

Toast the brioche rolls on the skillet until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each brioche roll, place a leaf of lettuce, followed by a slice of tomato, the cheeseburger patty, and a few slices of red onion. Drizzle the housemade thousand island sauce on top and place the top half of the roll to complete the burger.

  2. 6

    Prepare the Fries

Cut the potatoes into fries. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels, then season with salt.
