Method

For the Ribeye Steak

1

Prepare the Steak

Let the ribeye steaks sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

2

Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

3

Cook the Steak

Add the steak to the hot skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, add garlic and butter to the pan, basting the steak with the melted butter.

4

Rest the Steak

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

For the Garlic Mashed Potatoes

5

Boil the Potatoes

Peel and chop the potatoes into uniform pieces. Place them in a large pot, cover with water, and add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

6

Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add minced garlic, butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy.

7

Serve

Serve the garlic mashed potatoes alongside the ribeye steak.
