Prepare the Mussels or Clams
Rinse the mussels or clams under cold water, scrubbing the shells to remove any debris. Discard any that are open and do not close when tapped.

Add Wine and Seasoning
Pour in the white wine and bring to a simmer. Add salt and black pepper, adjusting to taste.

Cook the Mussels or Clams
Carefully add the cleaned mussels or clams to the pot. Cover and steam for about 5-7 minutes, or until the shells have opened. Discard any that do not open.

Finish and Serve
Sprinkle with chopped parsley. For a marinara option, you can add the marinara sauce at the end and stir gently. Serve hot with crusty bread.
