Lasagna Ingredients

Method

Lasagna Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meat Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent. Add ground beef and pork, cook until browned. Stir in tomato sauce and season with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs. Let simmer for 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Cheese Mixture

In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, and half of the Parmesan cheese. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper.

  3. 3

    Boil the Lasagna Noodles

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Lasagna

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top. Spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles, then add another layer of meat sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of noodles topped with the remaining meat sauce and the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

  5. 5

    Bake the Lasagna

Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
