Cocktail Base

Method

Prepare Glass

  1. 1

    Rim (optional)

If you want a savory/tangy rim, rub a lime wedge around the glass rim, then dip into coarse salt or Tajín. Set glass aside.

  2. 2

Fill the serving glass (collins or highball) with ice and set aside.

Mix Cocktail

  1. 3

In a cocktail shaker, add blanco tequila (2 oz), blue curaçao (0.5 oz), fresh lime juice (0.75 oz), and simple syrup (0.5 oz). Add a handful of ice (about 4-6 large cubes).

  2. 4

Shake vigorously for 10-12 seconds until the shaker is chilled and slightly frosted.

  3. 5

Strain the shaken mixture into the prepared, ice-filled glass.

Finish & Serve

  1. 6

Top the drink with chilled citrus energy drink (about 4 oz). If you prefer a lighter sweetness or more fizz, add 1 oz chilled soda water and reduce the energy drink by 1 oz.

  2. 7

Gently stir once with a bar spoon to integrate the energy drink with the shaken base without losing too much carbonation.

  3. 8

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge on the rim. Serve immediately with a straw if desired and a friendly reminder: contains caffeine and alcohol—drink responsibly.
