Garnish & Add-ons
Method
Prepare Base
- 1
Measure and place 2 oz light rum, 1.5 oz coconut cream, 3 oz pineapple juice and 1 oz fresh pineapple (if using) into a blender.
- 2
If you prefer a sweeter drink, add 0.25 oz simple syrup. If adding extra flavor, add 1 oz of chosen flavor shot (vanilla, mango, strawberry, or banana) now.
Blend
- 3
Add 1 cup crushed ice to the blender. Secure lid and blend on high for 20–30 seconds, or until the mixture is smooth and thick but still pourable. Stop and scrape down the sides once if needed; blend again briefly.
Finish & Garnish
- 4
Pour blended Piña Colada into a chilled small hurricane or Collins glass, leaving a little room at the top.
- 5
Dark Rum Float
Slowly pour 0.5 oz dark rum over the back of a spoon onto the top of the drink to create a float.
- 6
Garnish with a pineapple wedge and a maraschino cherry. Optionally sprinkle a tiny pinch (about 1/8 tsp) of grated nutmeg or toasted coconut on top for aroma.
