Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Clean the chicken pieces and pat them dry with paper towels.
- 2
Marinate
In a large bowl, soak the chicken in buttermilk for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best results.
- 3
Prepare the Coating
In another bowl, mix the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
- 4
Coat the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and let the excess drip off. Dredge the chicken pieces in the flour mixture until evenly coated.
- 5
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 6
Fry the Chicken
Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 12-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
- 7
Drain and Serve
Remove the fried chicken from the oil and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
