Method

Preparing the Protein

  1. 1

    Cook Ground Beef

In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once hot, add 250 grams of ground beef. Break it apart with a spatula and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. 2

    Season Ground Beef

Once the beef is cooked, drain excess fat if necessary. Add 2 tablespoons of taco seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste. Stir well and let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  3. 3

    Cook Chicken Breast

In the same skillet, remove any leftover beef and add 250 grams of chopped chicken breast. Cook for about 7-10 minutes until cooked through, stirring occasionally.

  4. 4

    Season Chicken

Add taco seasoning, salt, and pepper to the cooked chicken. Stir and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes.

  5. 5

    Prepare Black Beans

If using black beans, rinse and drain 1 cup of canned black beans. Heat in a small pot over medium heat until warmed through, about 5 minutes.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 6

    Warm Tortillas

In a dry skillet or griddle, warm 3 corn tortillas over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  2. 7

    Fill Tortillas

Place a generous amount of your chosen protein (ground beef, chicken, or black beans) in the center of each tortilla.

  3. 8

    Add Toppings

Top each taco with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, salsa, and chopped cilantro. Add sliced jalapeños to taste.

  4. 9

    Serve

Serve the tacos immediately while warm, with extra toppings on the side.
