Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Beef

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned and no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

  2. 2

    Season the Beef

Add taco seasoning to the cooked beef along with 1/4 cup of water. Stir well and let simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.

  3. 3

    Prepare Vegetables

In the same skillet, add chopped onion and bell pepper. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until softened. Mix this with the seasoned beef.

  4. 4

    Prepare Rice and Beans

In a separate bowl, combine cooked rice and black beans. Mix well.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Fill the Tortilla

Lay a large flour tortilla on a flat surface. Spoon a generous amount of the beef mixture in the center, followed by a scoop of the rice and bean mixture.

  2. 6

    Add Toppings

Sprinkle shredded cheese over the filling, and add a dollop of sour cream and salsa on top.

  3. 7

    Wrap the Burrito

Fold in the sides of the tortilla and then roll from the bottom up to form a burrito. Ensure it is tightly wrapped.

Cooking

  1. 8

    Heat the Burritos (Optional)

If desired, place the wrapped burritos seam-side down in a skillet over medium heat. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
