Ingredients for Toro Nigiri

Method

Directions for Toro Nigiri

  1. 1

    Prepare Sushi Rice

Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to package instructions. Once cooked, let it cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Season the Rice

In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Fold this mixture into the cooked sushi rice gently, ensuring not to mash the rice.

  3. 3

    Shape the Nigiri

Wet your hands with water to prevent sticking. Take a small amount of sushi rice (about 20 grams) and mold it into an oval shape using your fingers.

  4. 4

    Add Toro

Slice the Toro into thin pieces (about 10 grams each). Place a slice of Toro over the shaped sushi rice.

  5. 5

    Serve

Optionally, add a small amount of wasabi between the rice and Toro. Serve with soy sauce for dipping.
