Tataki Ingredients

Method

Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, rice vinegar, mirin, and sesame oil. Stir well until combined.

  2. 2

    Sear the Salmon

Heat a skillet over high heat. Lightly sear the salmon fillet for about 30 seconds on each side, just enough to create a crust while keeping the inside rare. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Slice the Salmon

Once cooled, slice the salmon into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick.

  4. 4

    Plate and Serve

Arrange the salmon slices on a serving plate. Drizzle with the prepared marinade and sprinkle with sesame seeds and finely chopped green onions. Serve with wasabi and pickled ginger on the side.
