Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preparation

Take the filet mignon steaks out of the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes. This helps them cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Seasoning the Steaks

Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel. Rub both sides with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and fresh rosemary.

  3. 3

    Searing the Steaks

Preheat a cast-iron skillet or heavy pan over high heat. Once hot, add the steaks to the pan. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust cooking time to your desired doneness.

  4. 4

    Adding Flavor

In the last minute of cooking, add butter and crushed garlic cloves to the pan. Spoon the melted butter over the steaks for added flavor.

  5. 5

    Resting

Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  6. 6

    Serving

Serve the filet mignon with your choice of sides, drizzled with the pan juices.
