Chocolate Tart

Method

Chocolate Tart Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tart Crust

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a dough forms. Press the dough into a tart pan and prick the bottom with a fork.

  2. 2

    Bake the Tart Crust

Place the tart crust in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until set. Remove from the oven and let it cool.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Chocolate Filling

Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Slowly pour in the melted chocolate, whisking continuously until smooth.

  4. 4

    Bake the Tart

Pour the chocolate filling into the cooled tart crust. Bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly moist in the center. Allow to cool completely before serving.
