Ingredients for Char Siu Pork
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, five-spice powder, minced garlic, grated nashi pear, red food coloring, and sesame oil. Stir until well combined.
- 2
Marinate the Pork
Place the pork shoulder in a resealable bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the pork, ensuring it is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight.
- 3
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 4
Roast the Pork
Remove the pork from the marinade and place it on a baking rack over a baking sheet. Reserve the marinade. Roast the pork in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- 5
Glaze the Pork
After 30 minutes, brush the pork with some of the reserved marinade. Return to the oven and roast for an additional 15 minutes, basting every 5 minutes with the marinade.
- 6
Rest and Serve
Once cooked, remove the pork from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with chopped green onions and serve.
