Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Shrimp

In a bowl, combine the jumbo Gulf shrimp with Old Bay seasoning, salt, black pepper, lemon juice, garlic powder, and olive oil. Mix well to ensure the shrimp are evenly coated. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from heat and set aside.

Fries Preparation

  1. 3

    Prepare the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the thin-cut potatoes to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while hot.

Coleslaw Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Coleslaw

In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded cabbage and grated carrot. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth. Pour the dressing over the cabbage and carrot mixture, and toss to combine thoroughly. Refrigerate for at least 20 minutes before serving.

Cocktail Sauce Preparation

  1. 6

    Combine Sauce Ingredients

In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce until well blended. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

On a large platter, arrange the fried potatoes, cooked shrimp, and coleslaw. Serve with a side of cocktail sauce for dipping. Enjoy your Jumbo Gulf Shrimp Basket!
