Marinade and Salmon

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a medium bowl, combine the orange juice, bourbon, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, black pepper, and salt. Whisk until well blended.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Salmon

Place the salmon fillets in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring all pieces are coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hours for more flavor.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a charcoal grill, prepare the coals for direct grilling.

  4. 4

    Grill the Salmon

Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking. Place the salmon on the grill, skin-side down, and cook for about 4-5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Baste and Flip

Using a brush, baste the salmon with the remaining marinade. Carefully flip the salmon and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
