Apple Walnut Crunch Ingredients

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Apples

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Make the Crunch Topping

In another bowl, mix the rolled oats, flour, and melted butter until crumbly. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Dish

In a greased baking dish, layer the apple mixture evenly at the bottom. Sprinkle the crunch topping over the apples.

  4. 4

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Bourbon Glaze

While the crunch bakes, combine the bourbon and maple syrup in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer for about 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.

  6. 6

    Serve

Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Serve warm with scoops of French vanilla ice cream, topped with candied pecans and drizzled with the bourbon glaze.
