Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Grits

In a large saucepan, bring water to a boil and slowly whisk in the grits. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally until thickened. Add milk, butter, and cheddar cheese, stirring until creamy. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Shrimp

In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Add shrimp and season with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Cook until shrimp turns pink, about 3-4 minutes. Stir in crabmeat and green onions; cook for an additional 2 minutes.

  3. 3

    Combine and Bake

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked grits, the shrimp and crab mixture, and cream cheese. Mix well until combined. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.

  4. 4

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden and the dish is set.

  5. 5

    Serve

Let cool slightly before serving. Serve hot, topped with seasonal island fruit.
