Preparation Steps

1

Prepare the Burnt Ends

Preheat your smoker or oven to 225°F (107°C).

2

Trim excess fat from the brisket and cut it into 1-inch cubes.

3

In a bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.

4

Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket cubes.

5

Place the cubes in the smoker or oven and cook for 4-5 hours until tender.

6

Remove the brisket from the heat and toss with BBQ sauce.

7

Return the sauced brisket to the smoker or oven for another 1-2 hours until caramelized.

8

Make House-Made Cornbread

In a bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, milk, egg, melted butter, and honey.

9

Mix until just combined and pour into a greased baking dish.

10

Bake in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
