1. Preparation
Remove the rib-eye steak from the refrigerator and let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
2. Seasoning the Steak
Rub the steak with olive oil and season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Sprinkle fresh rosemary on top.
3. Grilling
Preheat the grill to high heat. Once hot, place the steak on the grill and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
4. Basting
In the last two minutes of grilling, add butter to the top of the steak and close the grill lid to melt it and baste the steak.
5. Resting
Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to redistribute.
6. Serving
Slice against the grain and serve immediately.
