Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Mix well.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix with a spoon until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Let it Rise

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Assembling the Pizza

  1. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 7

    Shape the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 2 equal portions. Roll each portion into a personal-sized pizza shape on a floured surface.

  3. 8

    Add Sauce

Spread about 1/2 cup of pizza sauce evenly over each pizza base.

  4. 9

    Add Cheese and Toppings

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Add your choice of toppings such as pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, and fresh basil.

  5. 10

    Bake the Pizza

Place the assembled pizzas on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  6. 11

    Serve

Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, slice, and serve warm.
