Gnocchi Bolognese Ingredients
Method
Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery, and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- 2
Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- 3
Add the ground veal, pork, and beef to the skillet. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until browned.
- 4
Pour in the red wine and let it simmer for about 5 minutes to reduce slightly.
- 5
Stir in the crushed tomatoes and beef broth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- 6
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, cover, and let cook for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 7
Cook the Gnocchi
Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi and cook according to package instructions, usually until they float to the top.
- 8
Once cooked, drain the gnocchi and set aside.
- 9
Combine and Serve
After the sauce has simmered, stir in the cooked gnocchi and fresh basil, mixing gently to coat the gnocchi with the sauce.
- 10
Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
