Preparing the Steak

Season the Steak
Sprinkle the salt and black pepper evenly over both sides of the beef steak. Let it rest at room temperature for 15 minutes.

Heat the Pan
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

Slice the Steak
After resting, use a sharp knife to thinly slice the steak against the grain.
Preparing the Toast

Toast the Bread
While the steak is resting, toast the slices of white bread until they are golden brown.

Butter the Toast
Spread 1 tablespoon of butter on each slice of toasted bread while the toast is still warm.
Assembly

Place the buttered toast on a serving plate and top with the thinly sliced steak. Serve immediately.
