Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti or linguine and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Seafood

Rinse the mussels and clams under cold water, scrubbing the shells to remove any debris. Discard any that are open and do not close when tapped.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Make the Sauce

In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  2. 4

    Add the Tomatoes and Wine

Stir in the crushed tomatoes and white wine. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  3. 5

    Add the Seafood

Add the mussels, clams, and shrimp to the skillet. Cover and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the mussels and clams open and the shrimp are pink and cooked through.

  4. 6

    Finish the Dish

Stir in the chopped parsley and toss to combine. Adjust seasoning if necessary.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Pasta

Place a portion of the cooked pasta in a bowl and ladle the seafood fra diavolo sauce over the top. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
