Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Toast the English Muffins

Split the English muffins in half and place them cut side up on a baking sheet. Toast in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes or until they are slightly golden.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Protein

If using canned tuna, drain and flake with a fork. For roast beef and turkey, slice them thinly. Set aside.

Assembly

  1. 3

    Layer the Ingredients

Spread a thin layer of butter on the toasted side of each English muffin half. On each muffin half, layer the protein of your choice (roast beef, turkey, or tuna) evenly.

  2. 4

    Add Cheese

Top the protein with a mix of cheddar and Swiss cheese on each muffin half.

Cooking

  1. 5

    Melt the Cheese

Place the assembled muffins back in the oven and broil on high for about 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.

Serving

  1. 6

    Finish and Serve

Remove the muffins from the oven, and sprinkle with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and a dollop of mustard if desired. Serve warm.
