Prepare the Chili

Brown the Beef
Add the ground beef to the crockpot and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. This should take about 7-10 minutes.

Add the Remaining Ingredients
Stir in the canned diced tomatoes, drained kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, and beef broth. Mix well to combine all ingredients.

Cook the Chili
Cover the crockpot and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chili is thickened and the flavors meld.
Serve the Chili

Prepare the Toppings
While the chili is cooking, chop the green onions and shred the cheddar cheese.

Once the chili is done, ladle it into bowls and top with shredded cheddar cheese, chopped green onions, and a handful of tortilla chips for crunch.
