Method

Brownies

  1. 1

    Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Melt the butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.

  3. 3

    Mix sugars

Once melted, remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar and brown sugar until well combined.

  4. 4

    Add eggs and vanilla

Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then stir in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.

  5. 5

    Combine dry ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

  6. 6

    Combine wet and dry ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the chocolate mixture, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

  7. 7

    Bake the brownies

Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan and spread evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  8. 8

    Cool the brownies

Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the pan on a wire rack.

Assembly

  1. 9

    Scoop the ice cream

Once the brownies are cool, cut them into squares and place each square on a serving plate.

  2. 10

    Add ice cream

Top each brownie square with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

  3. 11

    Add toppings

Generously add whipped cream, drizzle chocolate syrup, and sprinkle chopped nuts on top of the ice cream.

  4. 12

    Serve

Serve immediately and enjoy your Brownie a la Mode!
