Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and form into 4 equal patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Make the Texas Sauce

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

In a bowl, mix together ketchup, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until well combined.

Caramelize the Onions

  1. 4

    Sauté Onions

In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Slice the yellow onions and add them to the skillet. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are soft and caramelized.

Prepare the French Fries

  1. 5

    Cook the Fries

Prepare the frozen French fries according to package instructions, usually baking or frying until golden brown and crispy. Sprinkle with salt to taste.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, place a patty, top with a generous amount of Texas sauce, caramelized onions, and cover with the top half of the bun.
