Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cook the Spaghetti
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Marinara Sauce
In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- 3
Add Tomatoes
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes and season with salt and black pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 4
Combine with Basil
Once the sauce has thickened slightly, add the chopped fresh basil leaves and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- 5
Toss with Spaghetti
Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss everything together until the spaghetti is well coated with the marinara sauce.
- 6
Serve
Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
